Hold a Food Drive
Holding a food drive is a fun and easy way to help feed our hungry neighbors. We are always looking for high-quality, nutritious food, including canned lean meats, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, canned soups, rice, pasta, and whole grain cereal.
If you need barrels to collect the food, arrangements can be made with our warehouse.
4 Easy Steps for a Successful Food Drive
- Complete a food drive registration form and then fax 562-6176 or email to food@fightinghunger.org . Once we receive your registration, we will contact you to arrange for boxes or barrels to be dropped at your site, if applicable.
- Advertise your food drive! Let others share in the joy of collecting food for the hungry by advertising your food drive with flyers. Don’t forget to send out reminder e-mails or make announcements.
- Collect nutritious, non-perishable canned or packaged foods.
- Prepare your donation for pick-up or delivery by boxing food in medium-sized boxes*. Please limit the weight of each box to no more than 40 pounds for easy handling. Remember: if you can’t lift the box, we can’t lift the box!
* Medium-sized boxes are Xerox-type boxes with approximately 18”x12”x10” measurements. Please limit weight of each box to 40 pounds (if you can’t lift it, we can’t lift it!).
